Now in its 19th year, IAFDS continues to build on the strong foundation established by previous successful meetings held across various European cities.
This year’s symposium is jointly organised by the Universities of Leeds and Cagliari, hosted at the Università degli Studi di Cagliari in Sardinia, Italy.

The 19th IAFDS will be held at Università degli Studi di Cagliari in Sardinia, Italy. IAFDS will begin on Sunday, 14 June 2026, with a student workshop on “Responsible Use of Generative AI in Research”, hosted by Professors Charlie Cai from the University of Liverpool and Robert Faff, Corvinus University, followed by a welcome reception. Day 1 of the symposium begins on Monday, 15 June, followed by a gala dinner in the evening. The symposium will conclude on Tuesday, 16 June.

We invite original empirical and theoretical papers in accounting and finance (including banking), with a particular focus on research that addresses significant and impactful issues within these fields.
Submissions must include a full paper (including analysis and results). The IAFDS Committee will evaluate each submission based on the following criteria:
Quality and originality of the research
Potential for impact
Relevance to the accounting and finance disciplines.

Accepted students will be required to pay a fee of £300. This fee includes registration, lunches, refreshments, the Welcome Reception, and the Gala dinner.
